This used Honda CR-V for sale is now yours and one of the first things on the agenda is cleaning it and preparing for a trip – anywhere! It’s a good car to start showing off and you’ll be getting the nice comments and requests to go cruising or taking overnight road trips. If that happens, here’s a checklist you can use in helping you get your new CR-V ready:

Honda CR V 300x218 Checklist In Preparing Honda CR V for a Trip

  1. Have a mechanic check all fluids and give the engine a once-over. Even if this was done before you purchased the car, it’s still important. Did you know a poorly tuned car will consume 50% more fuel and cause 50% more emissions?
  2. Have the air filter cleaned and dried
  3. Check power windows, air-conditioning, and heater
  4. Check tires, tire pressure on all tires including the spare. Do you have a spare?
  5. Assemble car tools or buy a kit and put it in the trunk
  6. Get a map
  7. Assemble an emergency kit with some food, water, blankets, flashlights, batteries, matches,  and some basic toiletries
  8. Load up on fuel. If the place you are planning to go has higher gas prices, then you might as well load a full tank before leaving. It could also work vice versa and load before leaving that place if the gas is cheaper there
  9. Find out what the weather will be like on the day you are traveling so you can prepare what you need
  10. Research the road conditions

It’s also a good idea that if you have friends or family with you on the road trip, you do not overload the car or pile up your trunk. You will have a proper if you can’t see the rear properly. If there is a lot of luggage, consider buying a roof rack. It’s a one time investment but will come in very handy if you love going outdoors.
